Holidays Part 3: Chile

So After Paris we ended up in Santiago, Chile.. thats where we spent most of the time in Chile. It was really strange.. we hung around and had lunch in the poorer side of town.. it was a bit dirty and creepy but the people were all happy.. then we drove over a big bridge and suddenly it was all new and modern and pretty like a completely different place. we stayed at the sheraton in santiago and they had the best breakfast ever mmmmm delicious.. all the fruit and vegies were fresh and giant and desquidgious

Where we had breakkie at the sheraton

Ariba Chile!

I took a few pics of their powerline cos i thought they were a bit CRAZY. yes. they were like this everywhere in santiago

Some Pretty Houses in Chile, Bright colours :)

Chile Parliament.. the changing of the guards was happening, it wasnt all that exciting but the music was way too jolly for the military to be playing it was kind of funny

There were beautiful stray dogs all over chile.. not ratty and starving, clean and well fed and adorable hehe

The Biggest Cathedral in Santiago.. its alot bigger and nicer inside but i didnt want to take photos in there.. there was a mass on.

There were elections on in Chile while we were there and there were campaign posters everywhere.. anyway this candidate for vice president looks heaps like george from seinfeld don't you think? it made me happy :)

George!

We had dinner at this cool resteraunt one night.. i didnt get very good shots but it was really cool inside.. tried a mojito here.. Yuck! also.. pisco sours, their national drink is pretty horrible.. its a spirit made from wine thats been distilled and stuff a hundred times.. it tastes like pure alchohol. not good.

One of the best days in chile i think was when we visited Conchay Toro vvineyards.. i don't like wine but it was really pretty and lunch was yummy and running around through the barrels was fun hehe.

Barrels! so much fun to get lost in.. like a maze

more barrels

& more..

Beautiful archway

The entrance

grapes

It was alot of fun. all the people in chile were so welcoming :)
in any park we drove past.. or even little patch of grass there were couples making out haha. serious public displays of affection everywhere!
Best thing to buy in chile: crystals- as in malachite, lapis lazuli, amethyst those sort of crystals. super cheap compared to australia. also if you like salmon then Chile (argentina & brazil too) is the place for you.. i had it in so many forms in south america.. not really my kind of food but not bad.
